We have much to share with you!

Sandy’s praise and worship ministry
The studio recording of the praise and worship tape by Sandy’s group, Dulce Inspiracion (Sweet Inspiration), is basically finished. They just need to redo a 15 second introduction to one of the ten songs so that the technicians can do the final fine tuning and then create the master disk from which the copies will be made. Pray that we will know whether the production should include cassettes or just cd’s.
The purpose of all this time, effort and financial investment is to minister to women so that they can be healed and set free (Luke 4:18-19). When Sandy, Elvira and Merly lead praise and worship at meetings throughout Guatemala, people always want to buy recordings of their music. We know that the Holy Spirit wants to use this first recording to increase the scope and depth of their ministry.

Dental outreach
“This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” James 1:27
Part of Mike’s dental ministry involves caring for orphanages in and around Guatemala City. He and another missionary dentist, who has been ministering for many years in Guatemala, have never been able to keep up with the demand even if they were working full-time at it. But, thanks to the help of Dr. Jack Hutchinson, a general dentist from Vancouver, Canada, the treatment is almost completed for the 150 children and 30 staff members of Casa Bernabe, the orphanage that VERBO began over 25 years ago. On two separate occasions during the past year Dr. Hutchinson and his wife, Aliza (a dental hygienist), brought various family members and office staff to the orphanage. They also provided treatment for many of the kids from the surrounding community that attend the VERBO school at Casa Bernabe and at another VERBO school south of Guatemala City. As a result of their hard work I only lack completing treatment on ten of the kids and five staff members. Thank you, wonderful friends from Canada for your tremendous work of love in favor of the needy children of Guatemala.

Church planting project
After a couple of false starts during the past three years, it looks like the Lord is giving us the green light to plant a new church in the Mezquital/Villa Lobos area. Half of the attendance from our local church lives in that area and very few of them have their own vehicle. They rely on public transportation which many times prevents them from participating in church activities (no money for the bus fare, unreliable service- especially at night).
On September 29th, we held a Sunday morning service in Villa Lobos in a house that we are renting. Sandy led the praise and worship and Mike gave a message based on Rom. 10:17, exhorting everyone to increase our faith by increasing our time in Bible study and prayer. There were over forty people in attendance and we all felt a sense of unity and excitement over what the Lord wants to do through our new outreach. Once a month we will be conducting a Sunday morning service in Villa Lobos with the goal of having this new church officially recognized by February or March of next year. For that to happen we need to raise up additional leaders and teach our people to give sacrificially so that there will be funds to cover rent, a part-time elder’s salary, etc. Believe with us that this can happen!
